Environmental Choice Program was established by Environment Canada in 1988 with over 300 categories of products to help consumers identify services/products which are less harmful to the environment.

The "Environmental Choice" Eco-Logo symbol of certification is a green coloured maple leaf intertwined within 3 doves.

There were more than 3000 approved products as of May 2007, with 119 licenses and 29 guidelines under which companies may be licensed and their products certified.
